Research Disclosures

Introduction

Transparency is the cornerstone of credible research. At the Insurance Agent Research Institute (IARI), we believe that being open about our methods and practices fosters trust and accountability. As an independent research firm, we are committed to conducting studies with integrity and sharing our processes openly. This page outlines how we ensure transparency and ethical standards at every step of our research.

Data Collection & Survey Participation

We collect data through voluntary surveys, interviews, and industry research programs. All participation is based on informed consent, and we respect the rights of our respondents throughout the process. Participants are never obligated to take part – they can choose not to answer specific questions or withdraw from a study at any time. We make it clear that responses will be kept confidential and used solely for research purposes. Our researchers follow strict protocols to ensure that data collection is fair, unbiased, and respectful of every participant’s privacy and well-being.

Use of Aggregated or Anonymized Data

IARI is committed to protecting individual identities in all our publications and reports. No personal data is ever disclosed. Findings are presented in aggregate form (such as overall trends, percentages, or averages) or in fully anonymized formats. This means that while we might highlight insights about groups or market segments, we never reveal who said what. Any quotes or examples are generalized and stripped of identifying details. By using only aggregated or anonymized data, we ensure that our research insights are informative and actionable without compromising anyone’s personal information.

Third-Party Research Collaborations

In some cases, IARI partners with third-party organizations, such as academic institutions, industry associations, or expert consultants, to enhance our research. We take great care to maintain confidentiality in all such partnerships. Before any data is shared with collaborators, we ensure proper agreements are in place – including non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and clear data protection clauses – to safeguard the information. Collaborators are vetted for their commitment to privacy and must adhere to the same strict standards we uphold. Throughout any joint project, personal or sensitive data is either not shared at all, or shared only in a secure, anonymized way. These measures allow us to benefit from external expertise while fully protecting participant confidentiality.

Limitations of Research Accuracy or Liability

While we strive for the highest accuracy and rigor in our research, it’s important to understand the limitations of any study. Our findings and reports are intended for informational purposes only – they should not be interpreted as guarantees or as professional advice for any specific situation. Many factors can influence outcomes in the real world, and our research reflects data and analysis at a given point in time. Thus, IARI cannot promise that all predictions or trends will unfold exactly as described. We encourage readers to use our insights as one of many resources in decision-making. Disclaimer: IARI and its affiliates assume no liability for actions taken based on our research. Users of our reports should apply their own judgment and consider context and updates beyond our publications.

Confidentiality & Privacy Protections

Safeguarding the privacy of research participants and data providers is one of our top priorities. IARI employs robust security measures to protect any data we collect. This includes secure data storage systems (with encryption and firewalls) to prevent unauthorized access. Only authorized research personnel can access raw survey responses or sensitive information, and they are trained in confidentiality protocols. We never share or sell individual responses to any outside party. Additionally, any personal information (such as contact details collected for survey administration) is kept strictly confidential and used only for the purpose consented to by the participant. We regularly review our privacy practices to ensure they meet or exceed industry standards, so participants and clients can have full confidence that their information is safe with us.

Industry Compliance & Ethical Standards

IARI adheres to all relevant industry regulations and upholds the highest ethical standards in our research activities. We comply with applicable data protection laws and guidelines (such as privacy regulations) to ensure lawful handling of information. Our research practices follow established ethical codes, including obtaining informed consent, avoiding conflicts of interest, and conducting unbiased analysis. As an independent firm, we maintain objectivity – our studies are free from outside influence or bias, and if we ever receive funding or collaboration from an outside source, we disclose it to preserve transparency. We are committed to best practices at every stage, from study design to data reporting. By aligning with professional standards and regulatory requirements, we ensure our work not only provides value but also maintains the trust and integrity that our clients and participants expect.
